History

LOV Vineyard was born in 2023, though its story began decades earlier in the caring hands of Chuck & Gail Jones. Teachers by trade, they acquired the adjacent property that had become dilapidated. In 1998, they planted 5.5 acres of vines with the help of seasoned practitioners and vineyard managers that became known as Hawk’s Roost Ranch. Over the years, they worked closely with acclaimed viticulturist winemaker Greg La Follette, who drove many of the farming techniques. Greg worked the fields himself with his family and often acquired fruit for his varying ventures. Magnificent oaks adorn the property with foggy sunrises and spectacular sunsets a regular occurrence over the beautiful pinot noir vines. The entire property has an incredible authenticity to it and one can truly feel the love that the Jones’ poured in to it.

In 2022, Chris & Amanda Ryan had the good fortune to purchase the property from the Jones’ estate to move with their three young children Lincoln, Oliver, & Vivienne to be closer to family in Sonoma County. Our goal is to continue to build upon the strong love of nature that the Jones established to raise our children well and to make special fruit.
